About Us

Dear website visitor,

Welcome to our school website.  This website is a small snapshot of the work we do here, and a few of the necessary documents you may need to find out about our wonderful school.  We do our very best to update this website so please come back regularly.

We welcome views on our website, and should you have any great ideas on how to improve could you please email them through the office email, for us to consider.

As with all schools we are extremely proud of the children and staff in our school, we work hard to do our very best.  We believe the school has many strengths, which we hope to show you through this site, and a few things we need to work on.  Over time with the help from parents and our local community we have every confidence that we will continue to be a great place for your child.

If you are looking at this website to see whether this is the right place for your child, please give us a call and come and visit.  Come and see the staff and children at work – I am extremely confident that you will not be disappointed.

From September 1st 2012 our school became Wareham St Mary Primary School. Previously it was The Lady St Mary First School. We continue to be a Church of England Voluntary Controlled school and maintain our strong links with The Lady St Mary Parish Church.

Mission Statement:

‘INSPIRE – EXCITE – IGNITE’

Our values are to inspire all children and staff who work here, and in doing so get all excited in everything they do – this will ignite curiosity to learn and improve their outcome to life and the future.  We believe we can achieve this through high expectations for all and instilling a desire to learn.  We do this by providing the best possible environment for learning to flourish, friendships to develop, and successes to be achieved, in a safe, secure, Christian environment.

Schools aims:

  • To build a school community based on Christian principles that respects the rights and responsibilities of every child;
  • To ensure a high quality environment for learning that is vibrant, motivating, healthy, happy, safe and secure;
  • To promote a curriculum that offers challenge, raises achievement, encourages imagination and creativity and provides opportunities for building self-esteem, fostering independence and self-discipline;
  • To help each member of the school community to work towards fulfilling their potential, intellectually, physically, emotionally and spiritually;
  • To celebrate personal effort and achievement both of self and others.

Wareham St Mary Primary School is a purpose-built, spacious, modern, bright, single storey building, designed with children in mind. Recent refurbishmenthas resulted in a complete internal rebuild.

The generous facilities to provide a range of places and opportunities for learning including a good sized hall, library / additional learning room, courtyard learning zone and playground classrooms.

We also have a new Early years outdoor learning area that was designed specifically to suit our needs.
