Year 2 marks the end of children’s time in Key Stage 1. Although learning continues in a practical and fun way tailored to the needs of the children. Children develop their phonics knowledge to learn some spelling rules. Understanding and use of punctuation increases with the children writing improving description and structure. Numeracy involves mental recall of previous facts as well as using and applying a range of strategies for addition and subtraction.
