SENCO – Ms Millican         SEN TA: Miss Hayward

ELSA: Mrs Norman          Intervention TA: Mrs Fisher

At Wareham St. Mary we have a rigorous system in place to track the progress in learning of each individual pupil. If a child is identified as having additional learning needs we have a range of support packages to ensure that each child makes the best possible progress that they can.

We have a dedicated team of teachers who support all children who have additional learning needs, striving through differentiated daily teaching to meet the targets set on a child’s Individual Education Plan.

Class based Teaching Assistants, working under the guidance of a specially trained Special Needs Leader, deliver a range of programmes of support and these are reviewed accordingly.

We aim to include all children in classroom teaching and learning by building on a child’s existing knowledge and skills. Placing much emphasis on children being able to listen, speak and explore in a quest to understand and make meaning from the world around him/her.
