We were really proud of our art work that represented the school at the PAW gallery. Every class had pieces displayed and we recieved a special certificate of involvement. 

Our whole school Music Day was a great success. Every class had a genre to learn about and a music skill to learn; Jazz, Rock and Roll, Rat Pack, The Blues and lots more! 

We were lucky to have Danny a guitar teacher and Ali a piano teacher come in to school to play a piece of music in a whole school music assembly to launch the day. They talked about their instrument and then took small groups out all day for taster lessons.

Year 6 went to The Purbeck School for a music workshop - they were introduced to different instruments for taster sessions and created a class choir.  

Great news...lots of children have now been motivated to learn to play a musical instrument.

We celebrated a fantastic sports day last week in the sun! We spent the morning working in our house teams, completing different activites to earn points. In the afternoon, we welcomed parents and families onto the field and took part in all sorts of races. Well done to everyone who took part, including the grown ups in the parents and carers races!

We had our Oftsed inspection on the 11th and 12th of May, and this week received the final report. We are so pleased that the school has been rated 'Good' in all categories and 'Good' overall! Please see the Ofsted tab under 'Key information' to read the report in full. Well done to all staff, pupils and parents who have worked together to achieve this. 

It was great fun to hold a disco in the school hall again. Everyone had lots of fun; there were amazing dance moves, fantastic outfits and lots of bubbles!

We had a wonderful whole school creative day, where children in all classes learnt about artists and art styles from other countries and cultures. Please see the class pages for more information and the gallery page for more images. Some of the art work will be submitted to Purbeck Arts Week and will be on display at Rollington Barn. 

Year 5 were lucky enough to take part in a PAW puppetry and dance workshop. They used recycled materials to make puppets and learnt how to move them and dance. They all really enjoyed themselves and it was great to see so many of them stepping out of their comfort zones and trying something new!

Year 3 took part in a singing workshop. The theme of the workshop was based upon a book called '

'Scary Bones Meets the Pirates of Brownsea Island'

Our visitors dressed as pirates and took the children on an adventure where they created actions around the story, sung songs from the story and used drama to act out the story.

The children really enjoyed the singing and learning all the actions. Some said they wanted to read the book themselves!

In March, we had our SIAMS inspection and we were so pleased and proud of our 'good' grading! The inspector spend the day in school, observing lessons and collective worship and speaking to staff, pupils and parents about our Christian ethos and how this has impacted on our school development journey.
