Y6 enjoyed a fun end to their Mock SATs week - an afternoon of cycling, scootering and roller skating! They all did so well with their tests and enjoyed the daily biscuits after each test, extra breaks and relaxed afternoons. Roll on the real SATs in May!
World Book Day 2025 - We all had a great day on World Book Day this year. We came in dressed as our favourite book characters, completed an online sporty quiz about reading and football, meeting some famous footballers along the way, read to the younger children and had a go at working out which teacher was which character in the Masked Reader. A great day was had by all!
A visit from PYCF - on Tuesday, Y6 were visited by Christian and Michael, 2 youth workers from PYCF. They came to talk to the class about opportunities available to them at the Youth Centre/Family Hub and events happening over the coming weeks. The children listened carefully and were able to play a game to end the session. Let's hope lots of Y6 children are able to benefit from this amazing service.
Y6 Geography Field trip to Studland - Today Y6 wrapped themselves up nice and warm and ventured down to Studland to complete some Geography field work linked to their topic, Climate Change. They have been thinking about how climate change is affecting the local area and today they saw it first-hand. The children made careful observations and thought about not only what is affected but who climate change affects. They also, very bravely, asked their own pre-prepared questions to members of the public and were given some excellent answers about how local people feel about climate change. A super effort Year 6.
Y6 PE - this term, Y6 are trying out a brand new sport - hockey. They were all a little anxious about wearing a gum shield for the first time but once they got over the gagging and strange feeling that a gum shield brings, they all had a great time learning this brilliant sport! Well done Y6. :)
Year 6 enjoying Forest School - this term Y6 will be visiting the Forest School every Wednesday. This gives the children an opportunity for some outside learning. I think the photos prove you're never too old for rope swings, mud kitchens and just generally having a fun time in the outdoors!
