Autumn term - 1st half
Science
This half term, we have been learning about everyday materials and their uses.
The children enjoyed sorting everyday objects into categories based on materials and their properties.
We also learnt about how some solid objects can change shape, depending on what material they are made from. We practised squashing, bending, twisting and stretching before we tested our objects!
As part of this topic, we investigated which would be the best to use for curtains, to keep a room dark. First, we looked at the different fabrics and then we made a prediction about which would let the least light through.
We then tested each fabric and recorded our results.
