Trips and Visits

Trips and visits are an essential part of your child's education here at WSM. They not only offer enrichment  of the curriculum but develop teamwork, social-skills, independence and so much more.  Each year group offers well-thought-out and well-planned trips, linking to their curriculum topics. Some trips are reward-based and these tend to happen in the summer term. All our trips and visits are fully risk assessed and inclusive of all children, no matter what additional need they may have.

Mrs Holt is our EVC (Education Visits Co-ordinator) and works with all staff, ensuring trips are carefully planned and risk assessed following National Guidance and guidance from Paul Burrows, the lead EVC from Dorset Council.

We have created a plan for the year so that you are able to see which trips your child will be taking part in. Some year groups have 'Topic Days' which help enrich the curriculum by immersing the children into the particular time in history or country they are studying.

If you have any questions about trips, please speak to you child's class teacher in the first instance or feel free to arrange a meeting with Mrs Holt.
